2012 Junior School President's Report

2012 was another busy year for the Junior School P&F. After some rain delays we started the year with our picnic on the lawn and our annual swimming carnival canteen. We tried something different this year with a chocolate fundraiser. This was incredibly successful, raising $5,500 for the Junior School. I would like to thank Michelle Gough for co-ordinating this fundraiser. We also ran canteens for the WAS Athletics Carnival and the CWA Public Speaking. All these events enabled us to raise approximately $10,000 for the Junior School.

We spent $5,000 on the completion of the Pirate Ship, which was launched in September to cheers of rowdy pirates. The Junior School P&F also contributed $5,500 towards readers for Infants and Primary School students and the $5,500 raised from the chocolate fundraiser went straight back into the classrooms as each teacher had completed wish lists for items required for their class. We also made a contribution towards the Year 6 Valedictory Dinner.

Our Junior School parents were enormous contributors to whole school functions such as the Festival of Art and Spring Fair. In the Junior School our committee has been lucky enough to have an abundance of keen and willing parents who have helped all year - cooking barbecues, baking cakes, manning stalls etc. I would like to thank you all very much. Special mention must be made of a few amazing ladies who have been invaluable to us this year and have helped at a moment’s notice - Lesley Bland, Catronia Roach, Rosie Bayliss and Sue Parkes.

I would finally like to thank the wonderful girls that make up our committee - Kristina Sotter, Michelle Gough and Donna Hope. A big thank  you also to

Mr Chris Jackman for all his help and support this year and I look forward to an equally successful 2013.

Mrs Stacey Whittaker (Junior School P&F President)

All Saints’ College Parents’& Friends’ Association - Boarding Sub-committee

Information for New & Current Parents

  • What is the Boarding Sub-committee of the P&F?

We are the parents and friends of all boarding students at All Saints’ College. The Boarding Sub-committee is an entity of the whole school Parents & Friends.

  • What does it do?

We hold one meeting and at least one social event each term and a working bee in terms 1 & 3. Social gatherings are organised to encourage boarding parents to get to know others in the school community. Some members of the school staff usually attend these gatherings, which enables parents to have contact with staff in an informal way.

  • Fundraising

Whenever possible, fundraising activities are held, the funds from which are used to assist in purchasing items for use in boarding houses. There have been cattle, wheat and fleece schemes in the past and we will be looking at new ways of raising funds in 2013.

  • Meeting Times

There are four general meeting annually, usually the second weekend of each term. The meetings are in February (Swimming Carnival weekend), May, July, and October.  The meeting dates are listed on the College calendar, school website and dates for 2013. Information and a reminder are emailed to parents before each meeting and minutes are emailed after. Notices of planned activities are included on the College calendar, the VIM and Weekly Revelations and can be accessed on the College website at www.saints.nsw.edu.au- Boarding P&F Link.

  • Boarding Sub-committee Executive

Please feel free to contact any of the people listed below for any reason. As parents of boarders we have experienced the joys and challenges that arise when sending children away to school for the first time.
