• Senior School Sports Report W03 T2 2018

    17 May, 2018

After a successful 2017 season, many of the All Saints’ netball teams are set for a challenging year ahead with the majority in the top grade for their age.

Congratulations to all teams for their efforts on Saturday in what was the first real taste of the cold to come!

Unfortunately, many of our junior teams were defeated but the Colts flew the flag proudly with a slashing 49-11 win over Mana Wairua.

In the seniors, 16 White suffered a heavy 65-5 defeat at the hands of Superstars Strikers and the ASC Thirds lost to Scots Thirds 47-26.

The Seconds did their best to secure another win for the club but lost a tight clash with CSU 41-36.

The Firsts knew they were in for another tough clash against last year’s A grade runners-up, Panthers.

The game was tight in the early stages and some excellent service to the shooters from Dom, Bella and Georgia had ASC trailing by just 4 goals at one stage.

However, lapses in concentration and minor errors allowed an experienced Panthers side to capitalise, increasing their lead as the match progressed to run out 60-37 winners.

This is ASCs first year in A grade for quite a while and while it is tough there have been noticeable improvements already.

The players are certainly looking forward to an exciting season ahead.

The Firsts play at 2:30 pm this Saturday and any support would be greatly appreciated.
