    From the Headmaster…

I wish to congratulate the Netball and Hockey teams from both schools who have been so successful in qualifying for their respective Grand Finals this Saturday. Playing in a Grand Final is a special opportunity and I encourage the students involved to prepare as they would for any normal match and to be confident in the fact that they are in the Grand Final because they have played so well all season. I encourage the two school communities to support the girls on Saturday but to be mindful not to create extra pressure through expectation and also mindful as spectators that you are representing the school as supporters at the games.

I congratulate the following teams and wish them well; I am certainly looking forward to supporting all teams on Saturday.

The teams involved in Grand finals with times and locations are as follows:

Congratulations to all the students and staff from All Saints’ College involved in the Netball Presentation Dinner last Thursday night. I was impressed by the high-quality speeches presented by the team captains which reinforced all the good reasons we play sport. In addition to such ideas as teamwork, resilience, commitment, courage, tenacity, school spirit and much more was the clear sense that the girls played netball for fun. The students were very grateful to the coaches for their commitment and particularly honoured Mrs Kay Nelson for her many years of exceptional commitment to Netball at All Saints’ College. I really enjoyed the night which was full of fun.

There have been a number of integration activities on both campuses in the last few weeks. The students have certainly enjoyed meeting the other half of their cohort for 2019 and participating in the activities organized by the staff. The students are quickly forming new friendships and are very much looking forward to summer sport together next term and full integration next year.

There will be a Senior School Information Night held at the Scots Campus on Monday 15 October. Parents will receive a letter with further details next week. There will also be an Open Day on the Scots Campus on Saturday 27 October from 11 am -2 pm. Please come along and encourage friends and work colleagues to come too.

I would like to wish Year 12 at both schools all the best for their last week of formal schooling. Thank you for your contributions in so many areas over many years and all the best as you work hard in preparation for the HSC Examinations in October.

    Have a good week.

    David Gates
