  • Great results in Science Competition

    26 October, 2017

Educational Assessment Australia, who administer the International Competitions and Assessments for Schools in Science, were once again very supportive in the administration of the annual Science Competition to every student in Years 7-10.

To score a merit, credit or distinction grade puts the candidate amongst some extremely able young scientists.

To score a high distinction places the candidate in the top 1% of the candidacy across Australasia.

This year we were awarded two high distinction, ten distinction, twenty-nine credit and twenty-two merit grades.

It has been a number of years since high distinction grades were awarded to students in two different year groups. They were James Denovan (Year 9) and Fergus Baldwin (Year 8).

The following students were awarded distinction certificates which places them in the top 5% of the candidacy across Australasia. Year 10:  Noah Baldwin, Brian Liang.  Year 9:  Harrison Cooke, Kate McEwen.  Year 8:  Samantha Mitchell, Jaxon Owen, Jessica Settree, Digby Sharpham.  Year 7:  Alexander Jonker, Andrew Mulligan.

    Well done to all students.

Mr Peter O’Neill (Head of Science)
