  • Fabulous Festival Of Art

    21 June, 2018

The 2018 Festival of Art, the last to be held under the All Saints' banner, has been hailed a huge success.

Coordinator Rosie Bayliss said that while the opening night crowd may have been slightly down visitor numbers were fantastic across the weekend.

    "It was brilliant," she said.

"People just kept on coming in which was great considering how cold the weekend turned out to be.

"Our cafe was packed to the rafters and people couldn't get enough of the art!"

No less than 43 works were sold over the weekend which featured the works of special guest, internationally exhibited artist Guenter Barth.

ASC P&F President Tracey Finau said the event would not have been the success it was, were it not for the dedication of the people behind it.

"In particular we send a massive thanks to Rosie Bayliss, her husband Trevor, Mrs Lizzy Moller and the members of the subcommittee," she said.

"But there are so many more who helped including the lovely volunteers who assisted with the hanging of the artworks and the parents and prefects who helped on opening night."

Thanks also to Olga Burgess for running the cafe all weekend and the parents who gave their time to serve and/or supplied food, Jon Clipsham and his students for providing beautiful entertainment on opening night and last but not least the maintenance staff who helped set up and clean up.

The winners of the Festival of Art Raffle were:

1st Prize - Dean Mobbs Artwork - Danielle Ball

2nd Prize - Night's Accommodation at Rydges - Lynda Ireland

    3rd Prize - 3 x Julie Foxall Children's Painting Classes - Jo Murphy

    4th Prize - Guenter Barth Artwork `Rainville Creek' - Marnie O'Brien

Any parents who provided food containers and Tupperware can collect them from reception now.
