  • The Magic of Godspell

    27 June, 2018

It was a show full of laughter but there were also plenty of tears as the final curtain fell on Godspell.

After months of late nights, stacks of pizza and loads of stress, Godspell finally came to the stage and wowed the All Saints’ and Bathurst community with four shows over three days.

The principal cast of Paxton Hewitt, Lachlan Phillips, Hannah McCarthy, Jessica Settree, Stella Gavey, Samantha Porter, Loretta Francis, Taylah Cooper, Anna Single and Holly Hare were superb throughout.

Each had a moment to ‘steal the show’ though it must be said Lachy made many attempts throughout every performance!

The voices were beautiful and well trained by gap student and singer Emma Venier while the band, directed so well by Jon Clipsham, played superbly.

Staging, lighting and sound were all under the control of the excellent Patrick Sinclair and it was a genuine pleasure to see new students work the desks.

A musical comes together through its choreography and the wonderful work of Abbey Miller and her dancers put the icing on the cake.

Last but certainly not least, the chorus were magnificent, bringing to life many of the songs ably assisted by Justin Settree on his unicycle.

    Special thanks must go to:

    The OBU,
    The All Saints' P&F,
    The All Saints’ Foundation,
    Busby Medical Practice,
    Inside Outside,
    TFH,
    Burke Printing,
    Cosventure,
    Oxygen Recruitment and
    Dubbo Storage and Warehousing

for their sponsorship and assistance with the production.

Long may productions like this continue and with the depth of talent at our disposal, I’m sure they will.
