Bathurst, home of Ben Chifley, motor racing and education, is an essential destination on anyone's holiday calendar for a visit of a lifetime. Located approximately two and a half hours west of Sydney, Bathurst has something to offer everyone.

Being Australia's first inland settlement, a rich history is evident throughout Bathurst and surrounding districts that includes the Wiradjuri people, convicts and the gold rush days.

Bathurst Regional Council's forecast is that the city's population in 2011 would be just over 40,000 which represents a 1.27% growth from the previous year.
