The Counselling Department assists in the development of the whole person by assisting in the area of good mental health. Classroom support is given through proactive lessons in areas of self esteem, resilience and bullying, child protection and personal development. Individual and small group sessions are also available depending on the issue of concern. An example of this would be a close monitoring of students struggling with the transition from Year 6 to Year 7, conflict between groups of students, or support of individuals with personal issues such as family conflict, depression, anxiety and grief.

In most areas of concern, particularly in the Junior School, a team approach is best where the student, parents, staff and the Counsellor are involved. If it is deemed necessary, the Counsellor has contacts to enable outside referral and testing. The Counselling Department also works with many GP's and other specialists as required to support our students. The College Counsellor works Monday to Thursday and sees students from Transition to Year 12.

Parents are able to contact the Counsellor on; 63327355.
